Who's the fairest unicorn of them all?

On one of my recent thrifting trips I discovered this exquisite unicorn tapestry. I couldn't resist her for my daughter's room; look at the detail. I want to change the frame of course. My little principessa is very pleased!

Tin Bird will be at I ♥ Market next week. It was a tad windy last month so they are moving the tent down to the lower level, under the rubber trees in front of Ninos. Spread the word...

When life gives you lemons

Make lemonade as the saying goes! Using one's imagination and a tad bit of flair...


Step 1:
Grab a lemon yellow inspired outfit like this vintage lemonade gingham skirt

Step 2:
Grab some lemons. These gorgeous lemons are from my lemon tree.

Step 3:
Make refreshing lemonade:

Lemonade Recipe:
Ingredients:
350g white sugar
8 cups of water
355 ml (1 1/2 cups) lemon juice


Method:
1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water. Bring to boil and stir to dissolve sugar. Allow to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until chilled.
2. Remove seeds from lemon juice, but leave pulp. In pitcher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice and remaining 7 cups water.


You can use your imagination and add slices of apple, strawberries or orange. Or stick to a classic like adding Mint leaves.


Step 4:
Build vintage inspired lemonade stand. This amazing stand was built by Lil' Luna. I {heart} it!!!

Step 5:
Sell lemonade for 5 cents and retire comfortably ;-)

Lovely Surprise

I've been quiet on the posting side, due to being busy with some freelance work. Sometimes one longs for a little escapism from the usual routine. Lately I've been thinking of scuba diving. Mint the Shop

One of my favourite online shops is Mint. I've been a fan for years. I first met Kirsty when she used to have a shop in Glenwood. I picked up this cake stand and Italian glass espresso set from her back then. Mint the shop is now an online one. One of my best-loved finds from Mint is my Art Deco coffee percolator. The rest of the pics are just a few of my favourite items from Mint. I don't know where Kirsty finds her gorgeous goodies but thank goodness for Mint which has helped furnish my home with some retro treasures! 

One shining star from Cupcake Couture

A little something I picked up at i heart market from Nadia's stand Cupcake Couture. I got this hair clip for my little girl. Its attached to a vintage card with the sweetest poem. Nadia's table is put together with such thought and creative flair. Very inspiring! Cupcake couture has an online shop and you can find her at i heart market.

Tin Bird Market Day

After a week of rain we had a sunny day but with hectic wind at the i heart market. I had all the usual decadent goodies on the table. I also had scoops of speckled eggs and choc peanuts, plus some gift bags for presents. I decorated some old consol jars with some lovely scrap paper and ribbons for the scoops. Thanks to all who came to support me; hope you are enjoying your treats!
